Ngorongoro Crater is said to be the largest crater in the world which is about 250 square kilometers. It is situated east of Serengeti close to Arusha and Kilimanjaro. This crater has been a World Heritage Site since 1979. This wonderful place is considered by some as "The Garden of Eden" or one of the 7 Wonders of the World. It is occupied by thousands of animals including lions, zebras, flamingos and thomson's gazelle. The landscape is amazing with flat grass plains, and many little water holes. The view from the Crater's edge is spectacular and it is a lovely place to go to. It is definitely a must see for any tourist in Tanzania!
Grrr.. He's laughing at us...
Places to stay:-The lodges around the crater rim are usually expensive, but there is a cheaper alternative. The Rhino Lodge, which is just behind the crater rim, has an office which is located in the Slipway in Dar.
